Hi. You're probably reading this because of the title or you're really bored. HA.
1. You'll learn to be independent.
-Eventually, you'll have to learn to take care of yourself. Being single for more than a year ( two weeks of being in a relationship doesn't count as a relationship, it's a fling ), taught me a lot. From being the 5'1 small little girl that needed someone to be there for her, to being a 5'1 young lady that admit to the hospital all by herself - and stayed there for 5 days - all by herself.
-You can go on a solo travelling because you know that no one's going to go with you, even your best friends - because you just wanted to go alone and mainly because you don't have a best friend, either one.
-Going to a mall or buying groceries all by yourself is a norm. You don't find it absurd or ridiculous because you're just so used to it. You can walk at your own pace - no one's gonna be there to make you walk faster or slower. You can go to any restaurant you want - no need of a discussion, it takes a lot of time to come into a conclusion okay. You don't need to tell anyone where you're heading to - it's a fuss if you can't make up your mind about going to H&M first or Topshop first - and you don't need to rush knowing that someone is going to wait for you outside the fitting room, you can spend your whole day trying on clothes and no one is going to judge you if you overspend - it's your money anyways pftt.
-You'll end up going to the cinema alone. I remember the first time watching a movie alone. It was indeed kinda lonely, and scary too - I felt insecure. Then you'll have your second time, third time, fourth time and so so on. It's pretty stupid if I were to wait for someone to accompany me only to watch a movie in the cinema, hey I don't need anyone to watch a movie with me okay, I can watch it alone. People often asks me, why alone? why so lonely? where's your friend? are you that lonely? hey hey hey whuddup man, ask yourself, do you really need someone to be there physically when you're watching a movie? You basically use your own eyes and ears to watch it - not your friend's. And what not, you don't even need to talk in the cinema. So rest assured, you CAN go for a movie alone.
-Eating alone is always an option. Hey you need to eat too okay. I'm here to tell you that it's 100% okay to go MCD or KFC or Nando's all by yourself or when you feel like having a sip of a hot coffee or a binge of a cake, yes feel free to go and enjoy yourself! Heh might as well, cause you're just paying for what you eat, no need of splitting bills - calculating those stuff is a fuss anyways and sometimes you don't carry much of a small change HA.
2. You don't need to have your phone next to you 24/7.
-Writing this, I don't have a phone next to me. Not that I'm very fond or proud of, but yes I don't need to have it next to me, because I know no one is going to reach me at this point of time.
-When you don't have your phone next to you all the time, you won't be wasting much of your time on social medias - scrolling instagram and Facebook feed will definitely take up a lot of my time.
-You don't have to charge your phone that often.
-When you're single, you'll tend to imagine that your phone vibrates all the time and you'll check your phone all the time - this is not gonna happen if you're not gonna have your phone next to you - HA bonus.
3. You have your time all to yourself.
-Time is gold - trust me it is. You can sleep early and wake up early without having to feel bad because you don't owe anyone anything. I sleep at 10ish every night, I don't have to wish anyone good night or midnight call anyone - which gets to my next point - money, who's gonna pay your phone bills man, you? or your parents?
-Commitment. You can commit to everything but a person. You can commit to your studies, your gym, your whatever, you can even work part time! I have commitment issues, I think because I have been alone for quite some time now and I can't commit to anyone, yet - I am so used to being alone that I don't need anyone to be there for me 24/7, I find it really annoying to have someone controlling me - the reason why it only lasted for two weeks-ish, a fling to me, shuddap pfftt.
-24 hours all to yourself. This is indeed a bliss! Sleeping takes up 8 hours. Morning jog takes up 2 hours. Eating takes up 3 hours - breakfast, lunch, dinner. Afternoon nap takes up 2 hours - if you need one, and yes I need it, Gym takes up another 2 hours - sometimes I need to swim too. All those already took 17 hours out of 24. And waaalahhh you have 7 hours of free time to do whatever you want - you need to study...
4. You can date whoever you want.
-You are a person too. You need company at times. You need to mingle around. You need to socialize and have fun. You can date whoever you want and whenever you want.
-You can have thousand of guys texting you - or none. You don't owe anyone explanations.
-It's funny when people thought you're dating someone when you're not. A dinner date is not exactly a 'date'.
-You can have casual dates.
-You won't be labelled as cheating.
5. Money issues.
-You don't have to worry about not having money or having too much money, either one, you don't have to make it an issue.
-You don't have to spend money on buying presents or going on dates.
-You never have to worry about having a pimple or two - spending money on your face alone is a lot.
-No worries on buying cosmetics - you don't need to impress anyone - a reason why I don't even have those stuff - not that I'm not feminine, I just think that I don't need it.
-You can spend whatever you have on whatever you want - such as buying my parents a gift or spending RM500 one shot in a shop, no one cares tbh, it's your money anyways.
-A whole part of your money are probably from your parents, you're literally spending your parent's hard earn money on someone else - think about it.
p/s: this is all based on my experiences. I ME AND MYSELF, not anyone else. if you don't like whatever i just mentioned, urm i'm sorry ( ok i'm not sorry ), just leave. HEH much love xoxo.
